Since 1974, NJPR has continually performed this service both for individual hospitals and for the State of New Jersey. Our experience encompasses over two million inpatient reviews. As a State-designated and certified Utilization Review Organization (URO), NJPR currently monitors Medicaid Utilization Management in more than twenty New Jersey Hospitals. In addition, NJPR offers an independent evaluation of hospital utilization management programs. In each case, specific and detailed recommendations are made to assist the individual hospital in both upgrading and maintaining the most cost-effective and focused use of its resources. NJPR review staff's familiarity with various criteria and regulations affords the flexibility and ability to function with ease at varied facilities when vacation time and illness deplete hospital staff for prolonged periods of time. NJPR can provide interim review management support to assure the continued function of the hospital's patient care management. NJPR provides the services of a formally-trained Legal Nurse Consultant to research and assist in the preparation of Medical Malpractice, Product Liability, Worker's Compensation, Administrative Law, and other medical legal issues. NJPR also offers a Review of Denied Claims Service, first to ascertain if an appeal to the carrier is warranted, then to prepare a specific appeal to recover funds.
