Coding Services

NJPR has been providing coding support for over 15 years. This coding support includes inpatient, outpatient, emergency room records, abstracting, data entry and analysis of coding accuracy.

NJPR is available to provide coding support on an established schedule, for backlog and/or vacation coverage. Our flexible schedule allows us to work with you to insure that we accommodate your department's needs.

NJPR hires only experienced inpatient and outpatient coders. All NJPR coders have achieved their Certified Coding Specialist credentials. One coder is a Certified Procedural Coder and several are currently eligible for this certification. Several coding professionals are RHIT or RHIA credentialed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

All NJPR coders are equipped with laptop computers containing a coding software package specifically designed to enhance productivity and accuracy, www.hss-info.com.

Inpatient Coding - ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes are assigned to inpatient medical records as appropriate according to the hospital's coding guidelines and established coding principals.

Outpatient Coding - ICD-9-CM codes only, or in conjunction with CPT-4 codes are assigned to outpatient records as appropriate according to the hospital's coding guidelines and established coding principals.

Emergency Room Coding - ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and evaluation and management codes are assigned to emergency room records as appropriate according to the hospital's coding guidelines and established coding principals.

Abstracting Services - Abstracting services will be performed in accordance with the hospital's guidelines.

Data Entry - Data entry on to the hospital system will be performed on the computer system in accordance with the hospital's guidelines.

Analysis of Coding Accuracy - NJPR can provide an in depth chart review to verify completeness and accuracy of the assigned codes, availability, completness of billing.
